Product Description Featuring ten sleepy dinosaurs, this adorable picture book from prize-winning writer Jane Yolen and best-selling illustrator Mark Teague celebrates the funny, endearing, naughty bedtime behavior of young children... and young dinosaurs.
Amazon.com Review "How does a dinosaur say good night when Papa comes in to turn off the light? Does a dinosaur slam his tail and pout? Does he throw his teddy bear all about? Does a dinosaur stomp his feet on the floor and shout: 'I want to hear one book more!'? DOES A DINOSAUR ROAR?" Most certainly not. Dinosaurs give their mommies and daddies big hugs and kisses, tuck their tales in, and whisper "Good night!" Every sleepy little dinosaur will recognize the tricks of the trade in these bedtime shenanigans. The chuckle factor is sky-high here, with giant, full-page pictures of cleverly identified Tyrannosaurus rexes, triceratopses, and Pteranodons. A variety of human mothers and fathers trying to put their dinosaur children to bed will bring the point home that the story may have something to do with human kid behavior as well. This good-natured nighttime book is sure to be a winner (even though it might inspire a few noisy dinosaur antics), especially as it's written by Jane Yolen, prolific Caldecott Medalist author of Owl Moon. Yolen and Mark Teague have teamed up to create a fun, silly, playful read-aloud. (Ages 3 to 7) --Emilie Coulter

Types of dinos July 17, 2010 A. Williams What I really enjoyed about this book wasn't so much the story (which is fun, though nothing indepth) but the fact that each illustration has a dinosaur labeled with its saurian name! I think this is a great way to introduce children to the various types of dinos and familiarize them with their fantastic names.
my son's favorite July 9, 2010 Julie we read this book to my 2-year old son every night before bed...he loves it!
one of the best goodnight books April 30, 2010 M.F. (germany) Wow, we got this book to read to our 2 year old before bedtime & he loves it. It's too short, not many words, was dissapointed in that way, but we use it as the finisher book...after we read a few other goodnight books, this is the last one we read. LOVE IT! Love saying, goodnight, dinosaur :)
Fantastic bedtime book! April 27, 2010 K. Wheat (San Francisco, CA) Beautifully illustrated, great simple questions and answers, fascinates even young children but I can see it going the distance b/c there are aspects to attract kids of all ages. Really outstanding book!
Preschoolers love this story April 17, 2010 P. Heaphy (West Haven, CT United States) Although a fan of author Jane Yolen, I was not familiar with this book until one of my preschoolers brought it to school. Overall, the children immediately loved the rhyming, sing-songy text and they were quickly "reading along" on their own. As can be the magic of a good book, the children read it to each other over and over. It appealed more to the younger 3 and 4 year olds (the older 4s and 5s are looking for a little more depth to their stories). I am interested to see if the other books in the series hold equal appeal.
