Product Description Illus. in black-and-white. "With an entertaining blend of fact, farce, and fantasy, Osborne tells the story of Jack and his sister, Annie, who take a trip in a magic tree house and land in a time 65 million years ago. They find dinosaurs and volcanoes and adventure. Veteran storyteller Osborne builds the power of reading into the story: it's the books in the tree house that give the kids the magic to travel and see far, far away."--Booklist.

fun history July 16, 2010 BW (Illinois) I'm 8 i read this book two times. I realy liked it! THere isn't one thing I didn't like about it. I would recomend this book to people who like history and dinosaurs . I have been tothe feild museum in Chicogo and they have a dinosaur scelonton.
Launch a budding reader with these July 14, 2010 A. Frank (SEATTLE, Washington USA) I did NOT teach my kid to read and was surprised when he read GREEN EGGS and HAM to me one morning at aged three. He had worked on it during nap time at preschool- so he is a capable reader. In kindergarten, though he was bringing home a self selected assortment of books from the class library that couldn't have been more boring. They were books that read such as, "This is my Mom. My mom is tall. I am small....." Very simple, but I kept my comments to myself. I'm sure he was learning strategies and letter combinations and all and he claimed to like those books. His teacher was very engaging, so I didn't deter him and let him learn what he was being taught. BUT- when the occasion came that we had to take a LONG train trip, I stopped at the local thrift store and found this series of books. I bought a stack and packed a few for the trip. I did NOT bring the DVD players that family and friends offered. My son, just turned 6, has now read half of them in less than two months. He devoures them and retells the stories to me the next day, so I know he is really taking them in. He is no longer frustrated when he doesn't know a word, because he'd rather keep reading and figures it out as he goes- or asks for clarification over breakfast the next day. Also amazing is how much he is learning about the world- I'm at risk of complaining that he's become a know-it-all, but I suspect that comes with his age. They are great books to launch a self reader and we highly recommend them.
The Amazing March 2, 2010 Dinosaurs before dark
This book is about two kids that go on an adventure to the past and they go to meet dinosaurs from the past in a magic tree house. And they find a tree house and when ever they click on a page in the book they go there .
And the dinosaurs try to get them but there is a dinosaur that named Henry. Saves them and they found out when they came back to there tree house it was still the same time so they did not miss any of there time
I love the book because Mary pope Osborne is my favorite author.
An Exciting Book September 9, 2009 I think Dinosaurs Before Dark is really exciting and it's good for imagining about adventures. A boy and a girl find a treehouse full of books and travel to a picture in a book back in time. They find a Pteranadon and the Pteranadon saves them from a T-Rex. This book is not too hard to read, but if you're a beginning reader you might have a little trouble. It's a chapter book with pictures. The chapters are short. A kid could read it in a day or a week. It's one of my favorite books.
