This is a story of lost civilizations, hidden treasures, friendship and betrayal, dinosaurs and good old-fashioned adventure--Edgar Rice Burroughs classic Caspak trilogy.

Starting out as a harrowing wartime sea adventure, Burroughs’s story ultimately develops into a lost world story reminiscent of such novels as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World, Jules Verne’s The Mysterious Island and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

A large island ringed by cliffs is encountered, and identified as Caprona, a land mass first reported by the Italian explorer Caproni in 1721 whose location was subsequently lost. The land is inhabited by primitive creatures that were presumed to be extinct. It's a dangerous world of roving dinosaurs, man-eating insects and primitive humans. It's truly a land that time forgot.
