Product Description Movie DVD
Amazon.com Created before the days of computer animation, Dinosaurs is an early 1990s television comedy series featuring impressive anthropomorphic, animatronic creatures created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. The story lines challenge some of society's most basic assumptions and explore some of the most universally troublesome aspects of "civilized" life. Set in six million three BC, the Sinclairs are your "typical" blue-collar dinosaur family attempting to adjust to the relatively new concept of communal living. The adjustments of moving from a nomadic lifestyle to one of domestication and social interaction are many, and challenging issues like the concepts of right and wrong, faith, and the intricacies of family relationships are forever besieging this every-man's family. Naturally, the Sinclair family approach is to address each obstacle with an abundance of slapstick comedy. The Dinosaurs episodes regularly function on dual levels: the puppetry and silly antics like Baby Sinclair's penchant for hitting her father over the head with a pan while hollering "Not the Mama" appeal to even the youngest children, but the often pointed social commentary and sometimes mature themes are squarely aimed at an adult audience. As a result, parental discretion and guidance are key in determining whether this series is appropriate for children under 9 or 10 years old. --Tami Horiuchi

i highly recommend this series. if you are tired of sitcoms that offer just the lowest forms of sexual innuendo, lame predictable jokes and immorality, this is something refreshing. you can watch this, and let your kids watch it. it is intelligent and funny.
Classic show at a great price. June 9, 2010 K. Eilers (Kansas City, MO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved this show growing up. It's one of the few shows that holds up over the years. I still catch myself laughing at parts of the show.
If you were already a fan of the show, this is a must have. It's a great family friendly show as well!
Good Family Fun April 2, 2010 Darlene S. Grochowski (Indiana, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My grandchildren & I watch these videos all the time they are a classic, I even had to get the baby on e-bay. The humor is clean and fun for all ages. I hear the phrase not the mama on a daily basis. Its so great to be able to enjoy something with the grandchildren that we both like. I have even had neightbors borrow the videos already. I will be back for seasons 3 & 4.
Best Throwback To Date April 1, 2010 Ilene K. Rivera (Philadelphia, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's funny how the younger generation has no clue what you're talking about when you say, "Not the Mama". Now, my children will. I loved this show as a child and even though it freaks my husband out, I still love the show today. I'd recommend this series to anyone who loves a good laugh.
