Great Magnets... not for chewers January 27, 2010 H. Greene My son loves these, but they are definitely not for babies who will put them into their mouths. My son preferred a couple of the numbers and the color paper that is glued to the top of the magnet has completely worn away, leaving a wooden looking number and making me hope that the paper/glue wasn't toxic!
letters December 9, 2009 DCF (Maryland) Amazing these magnetic wood block letters and numbers actually stick to a magnetic board. It's like magic! even more amazing is that you can arrange the letters to spell real words! My 2 1/2 year old has composed shakespeare sonnets on her own with these letters. BUY THEM NOW!
Fun toy but construction quality is mediocre August 17, 2009 E. Moore This is a great toy to have, especially if you buy it with a magnetic white board to hang in the kids room. My 18 month old son loves playing with the numbers and alphabets, sorting them by color, lining them up like a choo choo train. He's still too young to recognize the letters, but as he grows older and learns the alphabet the toy will offer new games to play. However, the quality of construction is poor, when we received the box, some of the paint on the letters was falling off. I did not expect this given that it is from Melissa & Doug which is usually high quality.
M&D Numbers May 22, 2009 Ellen M. Berry (Dunkirk, MD) Our 17th month is a little too young to understand mathematical concepts but enjoys placing the magnets on his board. The lid is easy for him to open (at his age too easy since he is still at the stage that dropping objects and making noise is the best activity). For a older child the lid will be great - easy to open and close. I would recommend this item.
